Mr. Lumpkin shall take action as required by Rule 31, RLDE, Rule 413, SCACR, to protect the interests of respondent's clients. Mr. Lumpkin may make disbursements from Respondent's trust account(s), escrow account(s), operating account(s), and any other law office accounts Respondent may maintain that are necessary to effectuate this appointment.
This Order, when served on any bank or other financial institution maintaining trust, escrow and/or operating account(s) of respondent, shall serve as an injunction to prevent respondent from making withdrawals from the account(s) and shall further serve as notice to the bank or other financial institution that Peyre Thomas Lumpkin, Esquire, has been duly appointed by this Court.
Finally, this Order, when served on any office of the United States Postal Service, shall serve as notice that Peyre Thomas Lumpkin, Esquire, has been duly appointed by this Court and has the authority to receive Respondent's mail and the authority to direct that respondent's mail be delivered to Mr. Lumpkin 's office.

I want to say that courts are very conscious of being publicly perceived as protectors of justice and are willing to go to great lengths to protect that perception and our SC justices are no exception. I want that explanation to be true and there be nothing more to it, but I don't think it is.
Really, I have no idea why the Court did this. Interestingly, nobody is saying anything about it, at least on Email or on texts. No newspapers have picked this up and our local bar leadership have said nothing about it to me.
Now is a great time to shut the fuck up about politics in all aspects of life. If you can be disbarred over this, and there is no push back (thus far there is not), it would be stupid to not understand that the world has changed and you need to change with with it. I have a family that I want to take care of and I have no interest in losing my practice for saying the wrong thing. Maybe that's sad to say but reality is what it is.
Also, my guess is that the future is going to bring more of this and in a year or two it will be shocking that Traywick "only" got disbarred. |
