Four minutes between classes in a three story giant square building the size of two football fields. You had to game out when you could pee, change books, or make it between rooms on opposite sides of the school. And, randomly, the admins would call for “lock downs” where if you were in the hall two seconds after the bell rang you would get an automatic detention.

I used to bribe my bus driver with a Gatorade from the vending machine to not leave without me so that I didn’t have to absolutely haul ass at the last bell, fight to get into my locker to get all of the books I needed to bring home, rock a piss, and then sprint to the bus for my 1 hr long bus ride back to the sticks. The bribes bought me an extra couple of minutes, but other kids would pretty routinely get left. |
