When Should I Start Mailing Non-OCI Firms?

When should I do that? I am working in the market this summer, so I was thinking of mailing in mid-July and (hopefully) doing some interviews before going back to school. Date: June 30th, 2009 6:14 PM Author: pearly marvelous stead hissy fit just go ahead and do it. get a list of alumni in firms, cities, practice areas u want, chat up a few by phone or email, try to get informational interviews, etc. if ur in the market u want to work in, lunch it up with as many as u can, and just talk about what they do, what their firm does, what u know about their firm, etc. do some cover letters and resumes to firms that aren't coming to OCI in a plausible market where u have ties, etc. now is a great time to start, and just see what u can get out of it. if u work it right, u may wind up with a few actual interviews in the summer, and maybe even walk into OCI with a callback or two already in ur pocket. lather, rinse, repeat.
