Also, mods need to set a good example and be particularly cautious about sharing info that could be used to harass them. Part of being a mod is getting fucked with by anyone who knows they can get a rise out of you. They will intentionally put you in a position where you feel you have to use your mod powers for something relating to you, and then you will look bad. It makes me look bad, too.

I hate rules, but I guess this needed to be addressed.

The penalty for revealing something to the public is that it's out there, and it could be brought up again. But I don't want to condone repoasting it repeatedly, either, and say that it's only a violation if it's spam.

You shouldn't poast info you don't want to be out there in the general "group mind." I'll do my best to keep things from being repoasted, but I can't guarantee anything. And if you keep enabling it by continually revealing too much, I can guarantee less of an effort to protect your privacy.

Think about it this way -

Whats the worst case scenario if your pic (that you posted in the first place) is posted? Paosters won't post their own pics (not a huge deal), or an outed person might leave (sucks for that person - but they poa their pic in the first place, which means they like attention, which means they probably wont leave). Even if they leave, you lost 1 person. The bort can survive the loss of any one poa, it's hapepned time and time again.

Whats the worst case scenario with rogue mods? Many people will leave/stop poasting entirely. Far worse for the greatbort.

I understand the impulse but bad modding culture always starts with vague rules that can be interpreted in increasingly restrictive ways. I think this standard could be abused to allow for a LOT of modding, and like non sequitur above I think over-the-top shitmodding hurts the board more than the occasional outing/collective ridicule of individual posters.
