The car chase that's supposed to be 180 isn't even a real car chase. The guy is just driving under the train tracks.
Also, where did the sniper come from and how did he know where to set up to take shots at Gene Hackman?

I think it's supposed to be based on a true story. But just lol at all those cops and feds going apeshit over 50 kilos, and these kingpins were only getting like 4 years in the slammer back then. Plus Gene Hackman fucks everything up in the end and pwns that FBI guy, and 2/3 of the suspects get away or escape conviction for any serious crime.
Plus NYC looks like SHIT in that movie.

Like all 70s movies it’s too Long and Tedious.
The opening bits really capture the sleaziness of Marseille though. You don’t often see that side of France on Film.

Honestly I think a lot of it was people just wanting to get out of the house for a while.
There wasn’t cable TV or video games back then.
Also air conditioning was a factor. A lot of people didn’t have it (including my prole family). The longer the Film, the longer you were in Cool Air.
