Think about horses and automobiles. Horses were legit wiped out. That’s basically the correct analogy for humans vs AI except that we control the capital so there will be some AI management type jobs available. And even that will go away over time as AI watches other AI better than people. It’s legit lol how fucked we are and no one seems to even care. It’s like the psychological defense response to thinking about death - everyone is just ignoring the obvious fate |

think about all of the traditional job functions. all of them are impacted by the scope of this. AI can create your entire marketing strategy, and then you can hire filipinos to do the work. finance/data analytics had already been automated significantly before AI, this will do the final step of creating actionable insights. operations and demand planning can all be done this way.
the areas that will be last to go are the ones that collate data from various, disparate systems (and this is the key) to form work product. i think accounting is relatively insulated, as is most types of law for now.
i think corporate work is done here, will be a thing of the past relatively soon. AI will take over 75% of it and the rest can easily be done offshore or nearshore. |

(1) AI is nowhere close to replacing the work established lawyers do. It hallucinates all the time. It comes up with high-level platitudes without understanding the issues or what the business/the client actually needs.
(2) I'm about one more double up from financial independence. If I can keep going for 5-10 more years, I'll get there, and I won't mind losing my job to AI--assuming no wider societal collapse, Weimar inflation, etc. And see above--AI is not taking my job in the next 5-10 years. |
