how does this work? i though everything's done anonymously? you apply to a separate "URM" consideration pool?

and employers probably will assume you got b/c of AA; you're below median. most people that write on are smart people with good grades that just weren't good enough to grade on...

the only advice i have, which may be horribly incorrect, is that you're better off staying in the city you want to work. you'll probably fare even worse at a T25. here, you at least have LR to your credit, and you'll have a broader URM alumni base for your target city.

but that LR thing is fucking bullshit

you think it's fair that some kid finishes in the top 11% of the class and gets turned away, but you, even though you're below median, get invited on just because you're URM?

ok, so you think it's fair that some kid finishes in the top 11% of the class, or aces the write-on but isn't the top 5 or so submissions, and gets turned away, but you, even though you're below median, get invited on just because you're a URM who didn't do miserably in the write-on?

fair enough. but as you sit with your law review "peers" this fall, just remember that they are judging you, and you're other classmates are despising you

sadly, this is absolutely true. my t2 lrev used "diversity" as a bump, and basically, anyone that wasn't white was probably assumed by others to have gotten in on the basis of it--although they would never admit so. of course, because the whole process is anonymous, you never find out who legitimately got on and who didn't.

If you know other URMs with better grades + LR with nothing then I'd probably transfer.

The only argument I'd see for staying is because your current school places URMs well in your desired location.

Since that doesn't seem to be the case, go to the best school you can, try to do as well as you can, and take any job you can get.
