Poast: Imagine this: Over the years, despite endless promises of “peaceful intentions,” Russia starts building up forces and alliances in Canada, northern Mexico, and—just for laughs—the Caribbean. Think bases in Calgary, missile systems in Monterrey, and a cozy little naval fleet chilling in Havana.
Now picture the U.S. sitting there, watching this slow-motion encirclement unfold, politely nodding at every press conference about “regional stability.” How long before someone in Washington stops pretending it’s all kumbaya and starts screaming existential threat?
That’s Ukraine in a nutshell. Swap out bald eagles for sunflowers, add a few thousand years of cultural tension, and sprinkle in some European geopolitics for flavor. Same vibe, different map.
