Frontier Airlines is revealing a new perk to court customers dissatisfied with recent changes at Southwest Airlines.
Up until April 30, any member of Southwest Rapid Rewards can instantly earn Frontier Miles Elite Gold status for the remainder of 2025.
Frontier marketed this promotion specifically to loyal Southwest customers "seeking their new airline of choice," following Southwest’s recent decision to end its long-standing "bags fly free" policy. This move came just a month after Frontier temporarily offered free bags on summer bookings in response.
According to The Points Guy, the promotion offers perks not usually found with budget airlines, such as a free carry-on bag, complimentary seat selection, and the possibility of future upgrades to Frontier's new first-class seats, which are expected to launch later this year.
Another benefit that arrives with Frontier's Elite Gold Status is the ability to earn 14 points per dollar spent with no change or cancellation fees.
However, Frontier’s latest move to targets members of Southwest's loyalty program arrives with a small financial catch. Frontier's Miles Elite Gold Status comes with a $40 fee. |
