Spending is always up nominally because of inflation. Businesses have low operating cost. Population goes up, prices go up, spending increases. the reason the stock market is overvalued is there are few other good options to park money and the government will prop it up at any cost. everyone here who thinks the market is overvalued, including me, dutifully parks their excess cash into the market primarily.
