I'd venture to say that BIGLAW associates are currently massively overpaid. There used to be a meaningful difference between non-equity partner pay and associates, now it's almost non-existent. |

Yeah in-house does farm shit out to shitlaw type firms when they are under water and need help.
But most of the time when you're paying big law rates its because they have some sort of expertise.
An in-house lawyer doesn't have time to negotiate the deals that are core to their F500's business, plus devoting all the time to learn about issuing corporate debt and then drafting the 1,000 pages of offering documents to go with it. |
