First the basics: Dolan's Knicks have made the playoffs 14 times since his family acquired the team in 1994. 14 seasons out of 30 years. They've been to the Finals once, Conference Finals once.
Sterling owned the Clippers for 33 years and had only 6 winning seasons, and made the playoffs only 4 times.
Knicks repeatedly got good free agents. Clippers did not.
Dolan loves his players and they love him.
Donald Sterling on the other hand was despised by the entire league. In a league full of black players he made racist comments and disparaged them. He didn’t want black people coming to his games and because of this he was forced to sell the team.
Dolan gets a lot of flack because he's the owner of the NY team. |
