Gen X culture is so superior to millenial that if you had any exposure at all to Gen X in the early 90s (older brother, older friends, even watching decent TV and movies) you will vastly prefer it over the Harry-Potter-worshipping generation of entitled losers who followed.

this is why there needs to be a "gen y" designation. there are plenty of kids who were too young to watch slacker or listen to nirvana during their heyday, and yet are much too old to give a shit about harry potter or pokemon or whatever. with culture changing so rapidly, it makes sense that there could be tighter generational spreads.

Greetings,

You can catch a whiff of both generations in that show. It has the cynicism about the world and powers that be that Gen X grew up with, but it also has the artistic idealism of our generation.

I'd say Petunia is the iconic symbol of Gen X, being forced to dance the dance of seduction by their boomer overlords, as represented by the Ginger Menace, but Artie serves as a Gen Y proxy, foolishly trying to accomplish lofty, world-altering goals like fixing the world economy, as symbolized by him trying (and failing) to shift the Nona Mecklenberg household an inch.

Mr Tastee is OFS the Greatest Generation; Gen Y everywhere long for his return to ascendancy, but he is here and gone within a season, never to be seen again.

Are you independent, creative, focused on yourself, do you feel alienated, does the idea of belonging to a 'generation' disgust you?

When GenXers were in high school the thought of a high schooler with a cell phone was unfathomable. Cell phones were those giant bricks millionaires had.

Hell, with GenXers were in high school carbon copies were still being used.

Kurt Cobain was born in 1967 - solidly, classically GenX
