Either of those are good entry rifles
Get a flashlight (surefire or streamlight) and attach it to the handguard. Get a red dot sight and a sling. Buy lots of magazines and ammo

I'm talking about non combatant civilians. i.e. What everyone on this shit board would be. In reality 90% would flee any territory that truly collapsed. But in the event you chose to stay in your white boomer exurb you are protecting your neighborhood and not taking territory. With the exception if your neighborhood defense militia decides to start attacking territory but very likely there won't be the man power or will for that.
Other exception is you join a true centralized combatant network but that will also never happen in the United states because there will always bee some semblance of military to hold and engage crucial territory.
Ultimately you either live in a coastal city you flee or die in until it gets under federal control or you live in an interior city population center that has degraded public safety to extent organized black criminals start killing and extorting with impunity until peace framework is formed, likely with same criminals taking prominent role in local government. In that case you flee to exurbs and hold with previous mentioned band of white boomers and shoot it out with whoever drives out there for loot.
Then long, long term, assuming full collapse you go to agro self defense commune and de facto independent territories end up forming along city, rural divide. But this is not going to happen and you (any xo poster) will likely flee to Argentina or Europe by this point.

Glock 17 (bigger hands) or 19 (if you want to conceal carry)
Ar15, get one with the rail mounting
- cheap flash light
- cheap sling
If you have extra funds:
- holosun 510c (circle dot)
- holosun 3x magnifier
If you have 10k to spare, and this is the only "game changer" attachment
- pvs-14 white phosphor night vision optics
- helmet to mount the optics
- laser illuminator for your gun

great list, a lot of work typing that out.
highly unnecessary. many would be better off with a different 5.56 than some of those armories. what's wrong with a random 5.56 vs a random ar15 brand.
personally i agree with glock having a glock 21 but it's so broad. the p320 is great but i wouldn't get it in .357 or .40.

Those brands are well known for quality. I don't know what poasters can afford, or what they need for their specific situation; best possible world is a KAC SR-15 upper on a Radian Model 1 lower with Geissele internals, but idk how many poasters can put one of those together -- much less find them rn. If a poaster lives in downtown Memphis, they have different needs than a poaster in Wyoming; they also have differing budgets. Giving them a list they can pick and choose from is far more helpful than telling them what exact model to buy.
I'd love to hear what other 5.56 people should run that offers an advantage over those I listed. PSA? they're better than nothing, certainly, and if they were my second or third AR, I'd get one no problem. But I want something better as my first option.
Yeah, again, I didn't tell people what model or caliber to buy because needs differ, but those brands make quality and out of that pool, you can find something for pretty much any mission. It's like tools -- if you asked me where to buy tools, I might not know what your project is but I know Gearwrench wrenches and Dewalt battery powered are well made and backed up by good customer service.

Glock 17 with a light + night sights in it. Woke people like red dots but I prefer hard sights.
I have a Daniel Defense DDm4v11 pro that I’ve put 2,000 rounds through without a single failure. Put a light and sling on it. Forward grips are a choice of preference but I prefer something that’s more horizontal. Make sure to get flip up irons. I have an EOS + 3x magnifier on mine.
You should also have a 22 and a 308 if you have room. I like the ruger 10/22 and the M1A Scout.

Alright. Some of these will be expensive, some will be cheaper. Wade through the links to find one that fits what you're looking for. Don't pay more than $2,800 for an AR-15 and that better be for KAC or Radian -- no others are worth it. Most of these you should not pay more than $2,500 for, and that number drops to $1,900 if it's BCM or LWRC, $1,500 if Aero or Turner -- and all of those numbers are still in the expensive range, where you should be looking for some aftermarket upgrades like Geissele or Radian triggers/charging handles, or something else to raise the value.

Those are all amazing rifles, and they're all top end.
But most people here are just getting into guns. They'd be better served getting some standard issue ~$1000 AR15 and putting thousands of rounds through the rifle.
The AR platform is extremely mature such that most of off-the-shelf components are very reliable. It's diminishing returns at the top end, and half the price is the cachet of the brand name.

CR on training. Best options, in a rough order, are:
- GBRS Group (the very best on this list -- entirely former DEVGRU SEALs -- but idk if they're taking civilian clients rn)
- Fieldcraft Survival
- Tony Cowden / Capable Inc.
- Haley Strategic
- Ronin Tactics (stupidly kitschy at times, but one of the best tactical instructors I've ever seen)
- Aztec Training Services
- Core Vision Training
- Esoteric / Yousef Sansour
- Frank Proctor Shooting
- Kagwerks
- Viking Tactics / Kyle Lamb
- Vigilance Elite
- Pat McNamara
- Direct Action Resource Center (DARC)
- Shaw Shooting
- Combat Shooting and Tactics (CSAT) / Paul Howe
- Baer Solutions
- Trident Concepts
- Thunder Ranch
- Gunsite Academy
- Sage Dynamics
- EAG Tactical

Get a battle rifle
Or a scouting rifle
AR is always a good choice

If you get a shotgun, I'd get semi-auto. I'd also get an AR first, and then a 7.62 rifle.
Definitely get the 10/22, they're such versatile little guns.
19 is good, I like mine.

Yeah his book, it’s pretty good not too in depth but made me glad to be out of MFH
I’ll order that one next
I’m still in pretty shitlib area so there’s really no where to train which he says is most important
