looking to cop a 2013 SA. firms from some markets dont' come to my school's OCI or just send people from the NY or DC office who forward resumes on.

i have top 10% grades at a T25. when is it credited to start sending resumes to firms who probably won't come to my OCI but where i'd like to work.

mid july bro

try to include in the cover letter a time frame that you will be in the area if possible

This advice is not wrong, but I don't think it's helpful to apply that early. I'd wait until the first or second week of August, when recruiters are ready to deal with this stuff. At most big firms, the same people handle applications and the logistics of the SA program. They're swamped with the latter in July.

Most importantly, follow up your letter to the general application contact with some kind of networking. Contact an alum of your ugrad or LS who works at the firm and ask to grab a cup of coffee if possible. If the firm doesn't typically hire from your school, it's very helpful to have someone on the inside pulling for you.
