They put out TOTAL TRASH during the N64 era. EVERY SINGLE WESTERN GAME WAS HORRIBLE, and they all cost the equivalent to like $150 in 2024 dollars. IT WAS A DISASTER.

Somehow from like 2005-2012, westerners convinced zoomers that their games were good bc of HD graphics, plus Xbox 360's PC-esque architecture allowed PC games to come out nbd. But it was all a fraud. It was always a lie. Western game developers have always been insidious, incompetent, insipid, and constantly on the brink of bankruptcy. Look at 1990: Nintendo, Square, Enix, Capcom, Konami. It's almost the same today, while Western Firms have gone through like 9 generations worth of bankruptcies. They're a disaster. They spend a shitload of money, make like 4.95% EBIT in a good year, they suck ass at Engineering, they write horrible stories that you have to read a Diary in some drawer to get the gist of, and they fill their games with disreputable cash grabs designed to exploit Losers and Idiots. They sicken me.
