Thoughts so far: Sebastian Stan is mediocre as Trump; he doesn’t have the right look nor the right build nor is he bullshitty or charismatic enough. The real Trump was a force of nature. Shane Gillis much more captures the essence of trump in his impression of him on Kill Tony and elsewhere. So this is a knock at the film for a mediocre portrayal

The guy who plays Roy Cohn is doing a great job in the role, really chewing the dialogue and scenes

The film clearly has an anti-Trump bias, but it is not too overt so far, it is just kind of cynical . I think Fred trump and Ivana were well cast

It’s quite watchable but I think it should be far more verbally bullshitty with a lot more humor. The film isn’t nearly funny enough

The "rape" of Ivana was a joke and should've been cut. Doesnt fit in movie. Trump donor was originally funding and then pulled out,so that scene was probably cuz they were pissed

Agree it shouldn't be too cynical but it's really the absolute best they could do given the subject matter at this time.

IMO 8/10, perfectly captured the griminess of NYC then and they're overall pretty damn accurate about everything

And the scene itself is fine, but doesn't make sense he'd progress it into "rape". Movie basically follows that women think it's about "power" when it's a joke he could even be hard then

First hour 10/10 best picture

Second hour 6/10 believe all women and dirt
