Remember - Gamecube was one of the first step ups to "hi def" and many of its games still look amazing today

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsH4lgOq06Y

continued at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jTqk9-SH08

Recall Star Wars Rogue Leader 1 and 2 (2 was glorious), Star Fox Adventure, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Rogue Leader, Wave Race, 1080, Wind Waker, and Resident Evil 4 which was exclusive at launch and literally blew people away graphically at the time. Resident Evil 0 and ReMake. And who could forget Luigi's Mansion - jaw dropping and still good today multiple Gens later. Even Mario Sunshine had amazing water graphics. Mario Kart Double Dash looks ALMOST as good as the modern version of the game on Switch. Soul Caliber 2 was glorious. Super Smash Bros. Many Gamecube games were 60 fps. Remember these games were from over 20 years ago.

F-Zero GX still, to this day, looks as good as many modern futuristic racing games at 60fps.

imo the GameCube may retroactively win it's Gen just like the Nintendo 64 did.

It's crazy. Xbox outsold GameCube but today literally none of its games are remembered at all besides Halo.

PS2 probably has too much content domination to be unseated but it's a lot closer than it should be.

Gorgeous dood tp please rate my household’s quirky console history growing up, in chronological order of when they were purchased, approximately:

Original game boy

Sega game gear

Apple computer of some kind w math blaster on it

N64

PS1

Game boy advance

Dreamcast

GameCube

Fancy gaming PC

PS2

Xbox

Xbox360

PS3 was the last console in my childhood home, also the first and last I’ve bought for myself

Recommended Wii U to my dad because I learned it had a balance board skiing game, which he ended up loving

Thank.

Tyty 🥰🥰🥰

It’s so cool you mention SNES, because my first girlfriend and I (junior high) loved taking turns playing Paperboy SNES together - the one and only game system she ever had, and I have no clue to this day whether she asked her parents for it or they just got it on a whim (they were well off to the point it wouldn’t be a budgetary concern)

Or maybe it was NES? I’ve always been confused about the difference, like a Wii vs Wii U thing in my head for some reason
