Weekends are worst part of BIGLAW for me

Date: April 28th, 2013 10:54 PM Author: Glassy Wonderful Brunch Messiness I haven't been in the game enough to hate the late nights yet. I don't really mind grinding all week. It's the hope of the weekend that lets me think "just crush it the next couple days and then it will be the weekend."
It's when you are about to kick off a nice Saturday morning, plans or no plans, and you get roped into working Saturday and Sunday that any inspiration to be excited about the job goes out the window. Working during the weekend is for suckers. |

I miss the BigLaw money, but the luxury of knowing that when I leave that Friday at 5:00 pm that I won't have to touch work until Monday morning is very satisfying. Admittedly, I do work a weekend every other month, but it is only because I slacked off at work during the week. Every now and then I get the urge to interview for Biglaw positions, but then I meet up with some former colleagues and remind myself why I took the pay cut.
Edit: I should add that I have no debt and walked away with about $60K saved from BigLaw. |
