Don't take this advice because I said to, but a better result is usually to run straight at it as fast as you can waving your arms screaming. They should run away.

Other option is to slowly walk away to the side, not in the opposite direction. and if you make a sudden jump or move, they are more likely to chase.

I believe Emotional Support Animals are no longer allowed on planes. But no worries - service dogs are still allowed! And they can be for any disability you make up and any breed. And here's the best part - no one can question you about it due to the ADA. All they can do is ask you if this is a service dog. Once you reply affirmatively, the convo is supposed to end there.
