Oh, come on. I've been to Rose Bar. It's a nice place and I had a good time there, but it's not as if it was a vastly better time than nights I've spent at Gansevoort or even lame places like Whiskey Blue. I don't necessarily agree with her criticisms of New York, but I doubt she'd feel differently if she went to the same clubs as you.

Rowan, you haven't been to Rose Bar (or if you have you went before 9 when there's no doorman). In all liklihood you were at the Jade Bar which is right outside Rose. Damien turns away gaggles of models and we've all seen your picture, there is no chance you made it through that door, and I have never in my life seen a girl who was even close to your "league" at Rose (I go at least weekly).

It's not difficult if you show up before they have anyone controlling the door. Rose is one of the toughest doors in the city, models and other assorted very hot girls are regularly turned away. There is less than a 0% chance you would ever get past Damian if you showed up at an hour that people actually go there (and there is actually a doorman).
