Every other first world country is bringing the fatalities down to 0 while the US plateaued and has recently seen a noticeable uptick. Our fatality trend looks worse than our peers.

In any event, lockdowns beyond protecting healthcare capacity are not productive irrespective of the death rate.
Here is WA the gov is using an uptick in cases (massive new testing capacity) to justify extending lockdowns even though deaths have dropped and pos rate is roughly the same. Its disingenuous and political. Lives are being ruined over this. |

We had some decline, then a plateau, and now a marked increase. The trend in fatalities is a good way to measure the spread of the virus since testing availability has changed so much over the past few months. Fatalities didn't go down in other countries (italy, japan, sweden, germany, and spain etc) because the virus had infected 100% of the population or because the virus ran out of old or fat people to infect. I haven't tracked national trends as well but locally spike in cases coinciding with nil on the death ledger. Pattern is holding steady.
Overall we know enough now that it's safe to say we're not going to suddenly fall off a cliff. Even if there are increases in deaths it's not going to have the detrimental impact on healthcare capacity that was feared. But yet policy makers are planning for social distancing in winter warming stations and asking for plans to have parks closed next summer. These people aren't going to give up control. |

The majority of people infected with Covid are asymptomatic.
The vast majority of those who die from it have pre-existing conditions, such as obesity, diabetes. Hence blacks dying from it in overrepresented numbers.
Japan has a much healthier, less obese, no-black society.
This isn't about masks, and it pisses me off that people are buying into the lie. |
