Do some research for a trial in 2 wks.

Just me (assoc) and the partner on the case. I'm obv swamped w a myriad of doc stuff. But partner didn't even tell me he was going to ask the other assoc to complete the research tasks.

Should I be worried? Concerned?

Probably not. At my firm this is how it works. It's the partner's case and the #2 guy is there to pick up the slack until he's overloaded. When the partner recognizes you're swamped, he'll seek out a #3 guy for spot help here and there.

This research is something he asked me to complete by this past Monday.

lol @ u thinking the partner respects you as an equal to whom he should disclose administrative details.

No you shouldn't be worried--this happens all the time. But you should be concerned about your ability to command respect in the workplace.

I didn't read that post until after I posted. If he gave you an assignment and you were late completing it, and he asked for someone else to take it over, yeah I'd be a little concerned. You should probably try to talk to him about it.
