The majority of Jews in the world are not NYC Jews. Full stop. The majority of Christians aren't American Southerners. What makes someone Christian is faith in Christ and the gospel. Some Southerner that might be quintessentially a Southerner but doesn't believe in Christ or the gospel isn't a Christian even if Southern culture tends to value Christianity greatly. Same idea. Judaism is a real religion and if you eat bagels, have sex with men and watch CYE but think the "funny weird traditions" that religious Jews do is silly, then you're not actually following the religion. |
