Allegedly Asians independently developed agriculture which leads to a more stationary life. Europeans were initially very similar. There was a few groups of hunter gatherers that made it through the ice age 12000 years ago and they coexisted with farmers moving in from the middle east. Both groups get fucked hard by sun worshipping horse riders coming from the steppe. And here we are!
Btw, have you seen where blue eyes come from? Blue eyes likely came from those hunter gathers, only they're only associated with the female side. I wonder how that worked out. |

I know they have been able to find some neanderthal DNA but it's very hard to come by. Any of those traits mixing into our DNA was a couple of ice ages back. Ice ages create population bottlenecks which clouds the issue. I've primarily focused on what came out of the last cool down. I know they have attributed genes they think could explain western individualism to neanderthals but I don't know enough.
Of note, Africans, Asians and Europeans all diverged genetically about 40k years ago...so where would neanderthal DNA come into play for just a few groups. Africans have zero neanderthal DNA but lots of Asians have the same or even more. Oddly Africans have another admixture from a group like neanderthals but there is only the genetic shadow of these people. We don't have any physical evidence. |
