No specific order:

Super Metroid

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Terranigma

Mega Man X

Der Langrisser

Super Mario World

Donkey Kong Country 2

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776

UN Squadron

Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers

That's right, no turn-based JRPG nonsense. Come at me.

Why did Capcom never make the game Mercs for SNES? It was only on Genesis.

It's my personal favorite shoot em up of all time.

I might add in Contra III Alien Wars and Super Punch Out, maybe Chrono Trigger

Contra 3 I mostly excluded because it is very short and the top-down levels are meh. You have 4 excellent stages, but, well, there are only four of them.

Super Punch-Out great as well but more of a top 30 game than a top 10 one.

Play Der Langrisser and Terranigma.

It's just a very strong all-around shoot-em-up game. The customizability is great (3 pilots, 6 planes, 11 or so subweapons), the ability to choose different stages is great, it has strong music, it looks good, and it has a really broad difficult curve (Easy is very beatable compared to most shooters, Gamer is gruesome).

I'll admit it's the most disposable game on the list, though.

The one I break out the most is probably Final Fight, though I recognize it has glaring flaws (namely only two characters and the lack of two-player). Objectively, Final Fight 2 or 3 are probably better.

CharlesXII, I have a rec for you that I tried out, especially since you like UN Squadron - check out Macross Scrambled Valkyrie - it has great graphics, and you can actually transform into the three modes - Fighter, GERWALK and Battroid (from Robotech), while you play.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJO7qg0a0pw

I enjoyed it a ton more than UN Squadron. I've been reading about one called Axelay that is extremely highly regarded that I need to try out too.

Terranigma is one of the only SNES games to have a genuinely interesting plot; Illusion of Gaia did a decent job but was weighed down by an ending I thought was a bit of a cop-out. Illusion of Gaia has more detailed, puzzle-based dungeons though they can kinda drag on for a bit; Terranigma never really has any spots that feel like a slog. Basically Terranigma just feels like a higher-quality product most of the way.

The one that really baffles me is Chrono Trigger. It's fine enough but the notion it's top ten on the SNES, let alone top 10 all time, is absurd to me. It's an easy game with a pretty straightforward plot; you can mostly win by mashing A for 20 hours. The presentation is great but tons of SNESgames have that.
