When the political reaction comes, as it inevitably will, it will come on little cat feet. And the nation’s elites, secure in the thought that the systemic racism charge has worked brilliantly in intimidating any lingering dissenters into submission, won’t see it coming.
It’s an open question whether this can help Donald Trump in November. His is a failed presidency, and the collective electorate seldom rewards failed presidencies with retention in office. But down the road, as the issue intensifies and as white Americans feel increasingly beleaguered by the left’s identity politics and disdain for Middle America, as more demonstrations and riots ensue with more destructive force, a counter-movement will emerge. It likely will approach the body politic as quietly as Sandberg’s fog. But, once it arrives, it won’t stay quiet for long.

We elected him to accomplish four things:
1) build a wall
2) make Mexico pay for it
3) destroy isis
4) take their oil
What grade is 25% ?

there are probably some really scary militias out there right now planning some shit.
if I'm furious about the riots and lawlessness, and I'm a lawyer dork who will never do shit about any of this stuff, think about what these types of people will do, and the anger they are feeling now too. I fear the worst is yet to come.

The only hope for this outcome is that this movement continues to be led by and confined to the egregiously annoying white libs and BLM activists that want their whole rest of lives to be shouting slogans while "tabling" on the quad. The problem is that this is an issue where there is an undercurrent of truth in the analysis of the BLM critique of police, even if their methods of expressing those truths in their "activism" are seemingly perfectly designed to repel and purity test the rest of the country. The reality is that cops are mostly ~100 IQ dudes who want to have a legal way to use violence to solve problems in their day to day lives, and we ask them to interact with all sorts of people that they are woefully ill equipped to deal with in a way that leads us very far from an outcome that could be described as anything like maximized social welfare. It's kind of hilarious when you look at how much our society valorizes cops in our core contemporary entertainment and metanarratives, while simultaneously most people expect cops to be, on average and with myriad exceptions, dullards who easily lose their cool, especially when confronted with people who are manifesting mental and social defects of their own. We've lived through decades of doublethink about what we imagine we would be like as cops v. how we see actual cops.
It's a strained metaphor because the effects of immigration are much broader and more directly economic, but it's somewhat like the hard white nationalist rhetoric of Trump re immigration. It eventually broke through and grabbed the mantle of policy making without compromising substantially because it was fueled and ultimately empowered by the relentless repression and obvious cognitive dissonance of elite neolib and corpcon open borders consensus. But a much more direct path to policy making for BLM is that they allow themselves to be co-opted and watered down, but still at the table and looked to as "experts" when there is policy to be made. Some might think that selling out the the white lib establishment would be unthinkable for BLM, but campus activist AA beneficiaries have actually been groomed to do this when the time is right after playing this same game of Overton window nudging for 10-15 years, as it's been the mechanism that secured their place in the GC clown world for 40+ years, just as LGBT have been wildly successful employing the same strategy. This is the bargain they strike in return for agreeing to keep quiet about more transformative and genuinely populist economic changes. It's a dangerous moment for police budgets and union contracts, and every new killing of a black person by a cop will fan the flames, and there will definitely be multiple high profile killings of blacks by cops caught on cell phone cameras and globally transmitted without important context within the next 18-24 months.
