some flat earther argued that when standing on a certain mountain, the skyscrapers in new york shouldn't be visible because of curvature, but they are.
seems like there should be an easy way to disprove flat earth without needing to take a picture in space

When you look at objects like planets and stars in space.
Are they flat discs? Or spheres?

I know that flat earthers have a fairly robust array of weird, superficial arguments but I forget what they are.
How do they reconcile the fact that ships disappear on the horizon? Some sort of lensing effect?
Anyway I'm a skeptical dude but if I have to pick a side, I feel pretty confident going with the one that doesn't make earth a unique flat infinite object since it's creation by god.

think they argue that it doesn't disappear and that if you have a telescope you can see it.
but yeah that seems like a good experiment.
to me the mountain experiment seems like it would be the easiest. just go to the top some mountain where you should be able to see another mountain or skyscraper, but can't because of the curvature of the earth

You can do those experiments. Here's the flat earth response.
https://www.theflatearthsociety.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Ships+appear+to+sink+as+they+recede+past+the+horizon
It's all perspective and the human eye can't perceive infinity therefor a vanishing point is created at some particular distance from the observer at which everything becomes indistinguishable (best paraphrase I got.)
They quote an observer report from the 19th century as evidence.

It looks like this.
Btw this map has ZERO distortion whereas your 2d maps always have some kind of distortion (like Greenland being gigantic)

The more evidence you offer the more convoluted they will make their flat earth theory to admit all new evidence.
You can't disprove it. You can just consider them retards and move on.
Remember: you can modify shitloads of TTT theories to make them consistent with all available evidence (e.g., "humans can exist without oxygen, except for on Earth and the moon where oxygen is necessary" as opposed to the simpler "humans need oxygen to survive"). But the scientific method is that you accept the SIMPLEST explanation that is consistent with all available evidence, and the flat earthers will have much more convoluted theories
This is, incidentally, what happened with heliocentrism vs geocentrism: geocentrism required some insanely complex motions of the heavenly bodies, while heliocentrism simplified their motions to just one ellipse each
