one's thoughts for a few minutes.
Like, even if they aren't asking you to do some monumentally cumbersome task, and even when they indisputably pull their weight with respect to housework and child care, it's death by a thousand cuts when it comes to the little shit. Like asking you to do an otherwise admittedly small task, but one that makes you get up from your seated position. Or not letting you have an unbroken period of quiet longer than 3 minutes where you can be alone with your thoughts. For me, nothing creates more cognitive dissonance than the feeling of being interrupted when I'm just trying to sit and think about something for a bit.
