Saw your post about reloading and how you don't think you have the attention to detail to pull it off. Brother, I think you have a mistaken perception of what is involved with reloading.

Look into a Dillon multi-stage press. Depending on what you are willing to spend, you can automate the entire process if you are so inclined.

All of the advice out there recommending against a multi-stage press for the beginner reloader is geared towards retards, seriously.

I self taught on a Dillon 550. Love it almost as much as shooting.

I think one of these days I'll give it a try. Seems like fly tying to me though. I hate tying flys. That said, I have friends that love reloading & fly tying. Maybe I'll get into it one of these days. I do think it would be cool working up my own loads tailored to my rifle.

Obviously, the utility from reloading varies significantly from caliber to caliber. With the right calibers, reloading is 180^180. .44 mag with your personal loads would be beyond perfect for Alaska.

For sure. I've got some 300 gr handloads for my .44. I hate shooting them though. The .44 is a 3 inch titanium that kicks like a mule deer. It basically has one purpose... to kill bears.

Where handloading really shines with .44 is soft shooting rounds.
