Date: May 14th, 2024 2:25 AM Author: Claret Cowardly Stage Brethren not blowing smoke but i've always wanted to go back to Tokyo. i've only been there on a couple stop overs flying JAL. my wife thinks it's whatever but my brother is otaku and speaks very poor japanese. he'll be 40 years old in two years, and i want to surprise him with this trip.
my big problem is his wife is fucking annoying, probably on the spectrum (and to be fair, he definitely is). so i'm trying to figure out a somewhat legit way to exclude her and their autistic kid, as well as my wife who actively thinks Japanese culture is dumb (but fucking looves going to Italy and Spain) and my young kids who could care less.
figure we can ditch the wives and kids, me and him, what would you do? |

which is gimmicky and overpriced. but then i watched a bunch of youtube sumo clips. i'd love to go to a real sumo tournament, now that i have a basic understanding of what i'm looking at. sounds 180.
the thing that impressed me the most about Tokyo even though i've only been a couple short times is first, how god damn big it is and second, how the culture is their own (i'm assuming this extends outside of Tokyo but i've only been there). sure there is western influence but it is warped and made their own thing.
getting drunk in Golden Gai was awesome, felt a lot like Chinatown Bangkok |

XO Japan. They do the Hanbasho 6 times/year and I think 2 are in Tokyo so this should be dope will def post pics.

Airports have been absolutely slammed lately and every flight I’m on is full except a return trip I flew from Asia on a Thursday. I think domestically they are down airplanes due to Boeing issues and they’ve gotten better using AI and software at timing flights and pricing to match demand. |
