Date: February 3rd, 2025 11:45 AM Author: Paralegal Mohammad there had to be some inside baseball stuff we don't know about within the mavs organization. the weight stuff has been publicly reported, but obviously that's not why you trade a player who is that productive. just from what i've seen watching the mavs play the body language from luka has not always been positive and in the finals there was that famous sequence where he yelled at the coaching staff to challenge an obvious foul on luka but the way he did it showed a lot of disdain.
then there's the connection between nico harrison and pelinka. obviously these guys had the nike/kobe connection but oddly it never led to any other trades besides this one.
i've also heard rumors that the new owners, the adelsons, want to move the team to vegas. shipping off a beloved superstar can only help extricate a franchise from a fanbase.
but even then it makes no sense. i'm a lakers fan, AD is a good player but he will ALWAYS be a robin, you cannot get anywhere if he's your best player when it counts. |
