Most of these could easily be done by a maid/handyman/nanny, but she uses those people on a very part time basis. Even though we could afford multiple full time staff. Says she wants our children to be "humble." The whole thing kind of feels like a humiliation ritual that she's performing to keep me from being arrogant.
Anyway, is this normal? Household income is in the two commas. |

There is zero fucking point in my taking 8 hours on weekend to try to fix irrigation system, for example - tell the gardeners and pay them a few hundred extra to do it. We now do this but didn’t used to (at least sometimes).
I still do far more housework than I should with having a SAHM (I do 2/3 of dishes, 1/3 of laundry, and probably 1/2 of general straightening), but it’s better than it used to be. |

I am deeply thankful that my wife is thrifty and tough on all spending. She handles the bills and money and does a great job (smart, educated in money, will laugh in the face of a contractor who is 70% above what the other 3 bids were), cooks all meals at home, but it affects every expenditure including my own and she does not see the value in, for example, a nice new car, and wants to bring way too many projects in house. |
