What kind of surgery? Performed by an oral surgeon in a hospital or a dentist?
Things to ask:
Can this be done with means other than general anesthesia?
What is your experience and training with anesthesia?
Will someone be exclusively dedicated to monitoring the anesthesia?
NYT had an article years ago about how dentists will mess w anesthesia w little to no training. There were instances where the dentist was administering the anesthesia AND performing the procedure, but standard practice is to have someone exclusively monitoring the patient for signs of respiratory distress. You want to make sure whoever does it takes it seriously.
