Date: November 30th, 2024 11:12 PM Author: Crystalline indian lodge puppy i recently posted about how i was skeptical about how it makes money and did not really receive any satisfactory answers. i know they have sponsorship deals but i don't see them regularly produce anything that generates serious eyeballs other than pardon my take and the pizza reviews (which i don't think are barstool ip). i guess they do other podcasts but who really listens to them.
anyways it shows up on my twitter sometimes and all i see are fat 30-50 year olds doing performative over-the-top reactions to missed field goals in front of a 70 inch tv. |

Date: November 30th, 2024 11:27 PM Author: Crystalline indian lodge puppy i'm not making a "hot take" nor am i taking shots when i ask this question (this is separate from my shot-taking above). it's a business. maybe you can explain how a youtube channel whose videos don't break like 20k views anymore employs dozens of people in multiple offices even if it's for shit wages (i'm sure it is), why they appear to continue to get sponsorship deals, etc.
he sold it to PE and then to penn when it seemed to be producing more content and investors were happy to pay whatever in a zero interest rate environment just for the promise of a popular brand. |
