Hmmm, his policies first term seemed fine with regard to inflation. Tell me this genius, if policy is so tied to inflation and so easy to predict, why did it spike with Biden? If Trump's policies= inflation then why doesn't Biden's policies =/ inflation.

The answer? NOBODY fucking knows and it isn't an easy problem.

Inflation spiked due to worldwide pressures from Covid and war.

Trump had a very different set of policies (Paul Ryan’s) in his first term. His current proposals are highly inflationary and amount to a regressive tax that will primarily hurt his working class supporters.

I didn’t say tax cuts were a form of spending. Trump’s tax cuts decreased revenue. I’d imagine the next round will as well.

The Inflation Reduction Act, a hallmark of the Biden admin, was really he cherry on top to supercharge inflation.

Also, it was under Biden's admin that so much of the free cash giveaways occurred. Also under his watch TRILLION$ went to the real estate space and shockingly, real estate skyrocketed and is the largest piece of inflation.

No. Inflation went down almost every quarter after passage of the IRA so it definitely didn’t “super charge” inflation.

Not solely. There are other things that "create" money in the economy like how much credit is issued. Similarly, money is "destroyed" when people default on debt. This is why a bunch of stimulus didn't cause inflation in 2008.

The elephant in the room is that from a debt perspective, when you consider both public and private debt we're in a worse situation than we were in 2008.

What Im trying to figure out is how the inflation can be pinned on Biden.

The Inflation Reduction Act was basically an infrastructure bill that could increase inflation. But was it all due to that?

The stimuluses during covid and post covid were at the end of Trumps term and the beginning of Bidens term. There was also stimulus during Obama.

The fed also printed a lot more money during the Trump admin and Biden admin.

Trump did Tax cuts and they have largely remained for Biden admin.

How do all those things work together were you can point to someone and say 'that caused inflation.'

When you send Ukraine several hundred billion and then Israel another hundred billion and Taiwan and others another however many billions all while also spending on other bs and allowing in a ton of illegal immigrants who we also fund it is really hard not to blame the administration for the resulting inflation.

People are far more sympathetic to tax cuts which is ultimately letting people keep the money they earned as opposed to giving it to a bunch of foreigners on dubious grounds.

Sending old military equipment to Ukraine doesn’t increase inflation in the USA you retard. Inflation is caused by increasing dollar supply in the USA plus COVID supply chain disruptions.

The Dems completely shutdown the supply chains and business operations due to COVID hysteria and then pumped the economy full of dollars. Hence the inflation.

Inflation is when demand increases relative to supply.

That’s demand pull inflation. There’s also cost push inflation, which is when production costs increase. And built in inflation, which basically comes normally with shit like standard raises every year for even shit employees. And others. Money supply matters but it’s clearly not the only variable given that we had almost no inflation for a long time with huge money supply stimulus. If there’s no demand then there won’t be inflation even where dollars are floating around.
