Mom of teen who allegedly shot at cops in Bronx says he's a 'sweet child'

Police call the 15-year-old gunslinger they say fired on them a wanna-be cop killer, but his mom says he’s really a “sweet child.”

“Wow, I can’t believe it. My boy is a good kid. He’s a sweet child,” Shaun Crandle’s mother told the Daily News at the Bronx court where her son was arraigned Thursday.

Crandle allegedly ran from cops on E. 170th St. near Fulton Ave. in Tremont with a .22-caliber revolver in his right hand Wednesday night. Police say when officers told him to drop the weapon, Crandle wheeled around and fired at them.

He finally stopped and dropped his weapon, cops said.

“I don’t believe anything they say,” the mom said. “I’m going to have to hear if from my son.”
