Prole Goy In-Laws Hosting B-Day Party On Shabbat Afternoon. Wont Do Sunday

Date: November 22nd, 2024 12:52 PM Author: ...,,..;...,,..,..,...,,,;.., one of my prole goy in-laws has a big milestone birthday coming up, my in-laws and SIL all decided to schedule the birthday party on shabbat afternoon. obviously, wife and kids can't attend (i cant either, but that's a good thing from their perspective).
when this was being proposed but before invites went out, wife told them in their family text that it's shabbat and why dont they do it sunday. bitchy SIL sent a half-assed text that she'll look into it, and in-laws didnt even respond.
then the next day, bitchy SIL sends out the invites, and wife says wtf i thought you were going to look into changing it to sunday. then bitchy SIL says oh its too late i already sent out the invites.
wife felt really hurt, and it's just one more example of how they don't give a fuck about her.
wife talked to her mom on the phone a week later in an apparent heart to hear attempt, and my prole goy MIL was like "we want to have it on saturday because it'll be more fun because people will be able to drink because it's not a work day the next day." lol @ these fucking selfish boomers. they'd rather make sure their friends can "drink" than have their own daughter at their birthday party. |

2) shabbat ends at nightfall, which is an hour after sunset.
3) after shabbat ends, there's evening prayers and getting home from shul and havdallah, etc. plus get the kids changed and ready which is a hassle.
4) the party at bitchy SIL's house and is an 1-1.25 hr drive from us
so no, we'd miss the party. |
