180, its better than i'd expected. i was so soured on firms that i figured it would be bullshit but everyone is super cool and chill, and the managing partner of the firm left a few days after i joined. he is a labor lawyer too, and he left me two really big clients. i also took everything from my last firm bc they don't have anyone who can do the work. plus the stuff i took from biglaw back in 2022. i may have a decent book now.
i don't think anyone here bothers with biz dev because the clients are all institutional and have been with the firm for like 80 years. i'm going to try to get people to do shit though.

i know lol.
my first day at the firm was spent in mcminnville, TN in collective bargaining negotiations. new firm was impressed.
they hired another partner in NYC this week too (he's an employment lawyer tho) and i don't think he brought a single client (we get conflict check emails daily so you can see the lawyer and client for each new matter). i lost count but i think i brought about 20. just a few years ago i had no idea how to develop a single client, so i'm pretty proud of myself.
