If you don't transfer you will be jobless and have to explain to people for the rest of your life why you went to a shit school. A similarly ranked friend transfered from my low t1 to gtown. He pwned his classmates and makes ~190k two years out. I stayed and I'm unemployed ite. It's a nobrainer.

I transfered from a Tier 1 to CLS/NYU and graduated Coif. A lot of transfers did. I don't think anyone fell below median.

This is probably because 1) Being good at law school test is transferable to pretty much any school 'cept Yale, where if you don't develop your own 17-point doctrine of products liability on the exam, you will get a Pass... well, maybe an honors anyways for being provocative by sticking to black letter law. And 2) 2L and 3L curves are usually more generous.

you know the pros and cons of transferring. just figure out what's important to you and go with it. if your career options and the next 60 years of your life are more important to you than the familiar setting, less debt, law review experience and drinking with the friends you've made, then transfer. if the other way around then stay.

I was in your shoes last year and transferred from true TTT to T14. I was worried about the debt too but so far am very glad I transferred. You will be much more likely to pay back the loans if you transfer. FWIW, my current rank is identical to what it was at my old TTT.
