Date: February 5th, 2010 7:08 PM Author: At-the-ready Stead Potus Now that we all know what our fears are, in the spirit of USS: Optimism, lets talk about what we are excited for about law school. I have a feeling this will not be as active of a thread...
Oddly enough, I am excited for the workload. It sounds incredibly difficult and I am excited to start 'figuring it out.' I'm excited to meet some interesting people, as I myself am not one of them. I want to get to know everyone from the nerdy art girl, to the NCAA athlete, to the 35 year old father/husband. I'm excited to be surrounded by not only brilliant professors, but some pretty intelligent students as well. I love a great academic atmosphere. If I end up in another part of the country, I am excited for that too, especially if I end up in North Carolina.

Don't listen to all the gloomy gusses who tell you that it's basically a three-year long mental rape where your future is determined based solely upon the results of ~6-8 incredibly arbitrary exams, and the "prize" for winning the contest is slaving away on LR for 2 years and then going to a sweatshop so you can barely enough money to pay back your loans before you crack and lateral out to some mediocre-to-good in-house job. Those guys are faggots who don't appreciate challenging academic discourse and RIGOR.
