Man hell no.
I still talk to some people every now and again at my biglaw firm. No one gives a shit if you leave. You're expected to; the only question is when.
I caught a little bit of shit b/c I left too early for the firm to recoup costs spent on me. But no one gave a shit really. At all.

-I had a ton of connections at the agency i went to work for.
-I worked very very hard on my resume and the application.
-Some luck.
Some gov't jobs are not all that hot. OGC offices are the best positions IMO. Atty Advisor positions are ok, but don't give you good experience from what I've been told.

Jesus. 50 is the bare minimum for me.
As for money - it's mainly going to debt anyway. Also I have zero time to enjoy the fruits of my money.
How'd you get that job. Can you elaborate at all on your particular position?

My biglaw money went to debt too. alot of my current salary goes to debt, just a lot less than before.
See above for how i got the job. it has its ups, but definitely downs.
My position: I work in an Office of General Counsel position. Soon, I'll be leaving this position for a policy advisor type of position because i just want to do something else.
I'm sorry i can't elaborate too much. i do not want to be outted.

Good for you. I have a few questions, if you don't mind...
Why do you say that OGC jobs are better? What is the difference between an OGC job and other federal government positions?
Do federal government jobs (other than DOJ) drug test?
For someone interested in eventually transitioning back to a law firm, are there any federal attorney jobs that are transactional?
