Thinking like this needs to stop. If the economy improves in 2013 firms are not going to need entry level attorneys. They will need mid-level and up. They will be short staffed in those positions, not at entry level

Yes because juniors don't do legal work of any substance. Again, there is no deal that exists where first years provide more of a value add than just bringing on some contract attorneys.

but allegedly they bring enough value, in certain cases, where it's important to grow them from the ground up... I'm not trying to be stubborn but there's definitely an important point here: the firms need junior associates. the question really comes down to balancing contract/staff/outsourcing with juniors

But now that clients are wising up and refusing to pay for first years, summer classes of 100 aren't worth it anymore.
