another dude in my program with a t-14 got a fed gov job. his position is a good one though and he should be able to move to private practice fairly easily in the future. |

part of me feels like the layoff was a blessing (not to mention the $90K) because it gave me an excuse to get away from a shitty industry that is getting much worse due to ITE - I dont mean stability - just QOL.
As I look now I kick myself for considering going back to biglaw. To spend another year tuition to do so would kill me. |

The only other possibility is IP, but an LLM in IP is not going to do you much good without a science background. And if this guy was T10 with a science background, he probably could have gotten BIGLAW w/o the IP LLM.
Environmental could be useful as an LLM cause the laws in that area can be quite technical. |

an llm definitely limits you. you are pretty much going to have to list your specialty on your resume and it will be an auto-ding for other practices. if you do a general llm you are wasting your time and money. |
