How come? Because you would never practice there? Isn't that true of the D. Kansas as well if you are planning on going to NYC?

D. Kansas or whatever is worthless if you're going to NYC, bra.

But it would be good enough for BIG-ST. LOUIS LAW, and could get you in with a Chi firm.

Most people with the grades to get a flyover district clerkship could get big regional law anyways.

so there is basically no point in doing a flyover d. ct. clerkship unless you intend to practice in the area? what if you have an offer from a big firm and they will pay you a 50k bonus. is it worth it to take a flyover clerkship then, assuming you really want to clerk?

I think it's not as good as your average district court from the quality of the opinions I've read. But it all depends on the judge, and I'd probably take it over some rural, lightly-regarded district-court clerkship just for the novelty value.

I don't see why it would be any less prestigious than a random district clerkship in Kansas.

If anything, it would get extra points because of the novelty, like you said, and also because people would perceive that it is a "destination" clerkship and hence face more competition than it would ordinarily (like Hawaii).
