Has anyone been able to negotiate their cell phone contract?

I have quite a few phone lines in my name on two family plans. I'm waiting until they are all out of contract before I renew, if I even renew at all.
I'm thinking about calling and saying that I'm leaving for another carrier to see what they will offer me. Has anyone done anything like this or know of others who have?

ATT offered me a 100 dollar credit when I bitched about iphone dead spots and called to cancel (wasn't an idle threat).
I took it, got a month free and canceled the next month for droid/verizon. Cell phones should be able to make calls first and foremost.
