Date: February 4th, 2011 3:30 PM Author: Excitant Water Buffalo before you "get actual contributors together" you have to sketch at least somewhat of a vision out for the blog. your approach would have us design the blog around a very specific subset of posters, whereas most other people would prefer to take the approach of creative vomit first, solidify the roster later. this allows for not only a wider range of ideas, but lets us incorporate the viewpoints of more posters. by doing so you're actually more likely to have a solid list of active contributors, because those who are deeply involved in the vomit phase are clearly more willing to commit themselves. if you just say "ok here are the top posters! let them handle it!" you're pretty much entirely counting on them to do everything, regardless of level of interest they have shown.
if someone is interested and has good ideas, they should participate at this point. it's that fucking simple. limiting yourself before the project even gets off the ground makes it far more likely to be never see the light of day |

edit: oh, i see what you said about shared host. do you have the ability to create limited FTP accounts? if you create an account that sets the soleless.com public_html dir as root, then i won't be able to see anything else. but, i completely understand if you're worried about it. this is just temporary until we get the Katz Global shit up and running anyway. |
