Chicago, Vandy, CMU, Stanford, and Rice were all founded relatively recently by robber barons.
Rochester, Emory, and Duke only became prestigious via the donations of other robber barons (Eastman Kodak, Coca Cola, and Duke Energy/American Tobacco Company, respectively). |
