If your situation is something like a strong regional (e.g., Bondurant Mixson Elmore) vs. a v30 (e.g., Paul Hastings, Jones Day), if you're dead set on litigating then I would recommend taking the former.

He was third in his class , won moot court national thing, was on law review, did dat coa shit. Went to this plaintiffs firm and then recruited the fuck out of me to go too. I ended up five in my class, won moot court thing the next year after he was gone, law review, same clerkship and went to big national firm because starting salary was about 100k higher. There isn't a day that has gone by that I didn't regret it. He ended up clearing 5 mil the year after I began practice, and now takes like one case a year.
