You have a really, really good shot at 0-6 if you stay in for 30 years. The reason there's a big drop off between 0-5 and 0-6 is because most leave after 20 years, not 30. As you can see, 0-7 and beyond is hard as shit and highly political. |

also, your numbers are way off. basic pay for an 0-5 with 20 years is $8339. at 20 years you make 50% (2.5% per year) of that, a little over 4K/month. i think you can choose a different multiplier, but it's 2% at 20 years and you have to stay in 40 years or something to to get a 100% retirement. and can you even stay in until 30 years as an 0-5? i thought you'd get force up or out by then. |
